So, eDRUMin has become my new obsession (yes, I need to get out more...) as its brought drumming joy back to me and inspired me to build a new A2E kit and get an online drum teacher.
It also seems to be building a nice community of like-minded people around it.
It's the sort of excellent thing I would like contribute further too, but in a constructive (and welcome) way - and I wondered if others feel the same?
Community contributions could include:
- forum contributions (happening already)
- beta testing and feedback (happening already, although is the forum the best place for this? Would issue tracking similar to GitHub be easier to manage?)
- feature requests (again, is GitHub or similar a better place than the forum?)
- forum moderation - although, not sure this is necessary (yet)
- a Patreon, to support continued development, as a one-off eDRUMin purchase can only go so far (Rob has already politely declined this elsewhere)
- putting source code on GitHub for contribution (again, already politely declined)
- a Wiki type / GitHub / ReadTheDocs community written online manual, as features are changing rapidly and Rob has already admitted succinct manual writing is hard!
- Demonstration and training videos, especially for some of the more nuanced features like calibrating rim shots and HH pedals
any other ideas?
Community project contributions
Re: Community project contributions
I’m willing to help with some of these. Always with Rob’s consent and direction.
I’m active in eDRUMin forum, beta testing and evangelism. I also recently donated a Jobeky Real Feel 3 zone ride to the cause. But I’m willing to do more possibly.

Re: Community project contributions
I appreciate the community that's growing here. Testing and providing feedback on beta builds is invaluable as is everyone's eagerness to reply to people's in the forums.
Exporting and uploading presets for commercially available pads is another great way to help.

What's the process for uploading presets? And is this possible/necessary for pedals?

Brad Robinson over at Topten Software (Cantabile) uses Trello:

That software as has a lot going on so the Trello isn't overkill - just thought you might find it interesting.

Re: Community project contributions
I have to use Trello at work and it's kinda useful I guess, especially if you're my manager.
But I much prefer old school message board like this one.
