I'm struggling with my hall sensor HiHat pedal (again)

Post by Polyphonics »

I used to use this set up on Megadrum but now I've gotten rid of that module I have moved over my pedal to eDrumin.

I'm using an A1302 sensor linear (that's how it's described on the box)

I've wired it as such:

(Lookng down on the sensor, so the angled side is facing up)
TIP - pin 3 (left)
RING -pin 1 (right)
SLEEVE -pin 2 (middle)

I switched out the left and right and I'm still getting nothing, I'm using some strong magnets too.

How does calibrate work?

Make sure the pedal is set as an expression pedal and not a hihat.

Ground should be on the sleeve, the others shouldn't matter as the pedal inputs are polarity reversing.

I don't actually have a hall effect sensor here, but I know a lot of users do.

The expression pedal is the first pedal image.

It sounds strange that do not actually know what you need to do to get your hall effect sensor working, bit if your patience, someone chime is with some useful information. Have you searched the forum? I feel like this has been talked about before?

I managed to get a signal by reapplying the TRS,

But it's just jumping the CC value around even when I'm not moving anything at al

I don't even know how I did it, but i managed to stabilise the signal, just trying to find the right magnet position right now

Mine (same magnets? :D ) is working very well. I'll post my settings when I get back on my kit. A few times when I updated I had to unplug the pedal and plug it back in for some reason.

I managed to get it working in the end :)

Although, hihat crosstalk is very weird, I can see the waves in the scanner window, but often missing a lot of pedal hits and cymbal hits being cancelled out as well. Not quite sure how to configure hihat xtalk
