BFD 3 Half Edge Articulations

Trying to get my Lemon 13" snare to send "half edge" data to BFD3. The settings I have in eDRUMin going through the ED 8 work perfectly with Superior Drummer 3 and I get exactly the edge articulations I want (see screenshot below).

I've tried setting half edge to CC 16 and 17 in BFD3... nothing. Tried setting eDRUMin to "note" and mapping Snare half edge in BFD 3 to C-2 (as is the default in eDRUMin software), still no edge articulations.

If anyone has come across this issue or knows of a work-around, your insights would be most welcome.
