Naming multiple eDRUMin 4s

Post by Protocol »

I've been using my two eDRUMin 4s since 2020 and am still very happy with them!

There's one little annoyance that I keep running into: in Superior Drummer 3 on Windows 11 both devices show up with the same name. By default, only the first device will be activated when starting a new instance, so I have to manually select the second device in midi settings before I can start playing every single time.

It's not such a big deal, but it would be nice to get this sorted.

I've given both devices a unique name in Windows device management, but somehow they still show up with the same name in Superior Drummer. Is there a way to fix this?

I'll try the Toontrack forums as well, but maybe someone here has encountered this and found a solution...

Thanks!

Go to the firmware section of the control application and change the color of one of the devices. This will make it easier for you to distinguish them and will change the name of it's MIDI port so OS can distinguish them too.

Wow that was quick and easy! Never imagined that changing the color affected the device name (but I now realise I missed that in the manual  )...

Thanks!
