Yamaha DTX-Pro compatibility?

The USB host port on the eDRUMin 10 does host USB midi devices that are class compliant. I do this with TD-17 module, but I have to change TD-17 USB settings from vendor to generic. Works really well and version 1.6 adds some new MIDI routing options that are useful.

Not sure if no reply means Edrumin USB to DTX-Pro USB doesn't work or simply no one here has tried it. I had the experience going from Edrumin midi out to an old Roland modules midi in that it was nothing like triggering the modules sounds from a pad. Instead it was just the most basic version of the root sound. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I couldn't feel like I was adding extra pads with that sound. Good to know about that setting. Thanks.

I can’t speak to experience with the DTX module or older Roland modules. I have used the eDRUMin to trigger and send MIDI to TD-17, and once the MIDI is configured correctly I could not tell the difference from the cable snake or the eDRUMin. I believe the eDRUMin is slightly more flexible. No drum splitters needed for eDRUMin unlike when I was triggering with TD-17.

It seems to be working going from Edrumin Host. I had my diy set up before going from Edrumin into the computer and various VST's. I guess because of this only about half the pads are making sounds right now when connected to the DTX-Pro. Both Edrumin and the Module are a bit advanced for my technical abilities. So now my question is if it would be better to go into the module and try to change so sounds come out where I want them or to go into the Edrumin and change the midi notes there to match the sounds? I think I'll end up relying on a module for sounds rather than the computer for live playing although I'll occasionally connect to the PC when at home to try out the VST's some more. By the way, when I get some more cables I'm also going to connect the pads directly to the module to see if I can tell any difference in latency. Thanks.
