I'll try to get something to show for by the end of the week. I would love to get some feedback. I've also sent off an email to support over at ToonTrack to get some guidance, but I'm not holding my breath for a reply.

I am Ready to test it anytime.

You hinted that this effect might be less with higher priced Controllers: I tried a ATV HiHat and it was even worse than the VH10, because the Top Cymbal moves a lot (which is realistic but hard to track).

I think it also depend on the hihat stand. Some have a much harder spring that could prevent those unwanted behavior.

Good point.

Also putting a little foam beteen HiHat and Controller would do something similar, but has abvious disadvantages, inducing physical latency when the closing hi hat.

I think I've managed to improve hihat position stability significantly. I'm linking to development build with a new set of controls. There are actually 3 controls, but perhaps I can omit some based on your feedback.

Using the new controls should be straight forward. When you hit the hihat, the change in the hihat position as a result of the impact is displayed in red. As long as the red is covered by the yellow area, it will not produce a real change in the hihat's position. Be careful about dragging the yellow area out too far as this can prevent the hihat pedal from working as intended. Let me know what values work best with your setup (the three numhers at the top of the control). Also, make sure that the HH_Xtalk control is enabled on the input you use as your hihat.

I will give you Feedback in a few Hours. Will try it with a VH10 and ATV 12" HiHat.

Is that example your Settings with a VH10?

Yes. Those are the defaults by the way, and the defaults will be restored every time the eDRUMin is plugged in. My hihat stand is pretty crappy though and lacks a tensioning system I've ordered a better one so I can do more testing.

Probably a good idea, you'll be able to compare. I'm still convinced that it's a great feature to help a loosy hihat stand to give optimal results in S3.

Good call with the tight spring. Solves like 70% of that Problem.

Also very true that one should have the Option of playing with a loose spring if his style/Preference is that way.
