Midi out powered ?
Re: Midi out powered ?
Amazingly the WIDI Master arrived today. I tested briefly with iOS and an ED4, ED10, and MIDI Expression iO and everything seems to work just fine. I did notice that the iOS eDRUMin control application didn't work with the ED10, but that should be an easy fix. I'll spend some more time with it over the next couple of days, but so far no issues.
Re: Midi out powered ?
Weird, but glad to hear it, Hoipefully I got a parts of a bad batch (of WIDI Masters, not eDrummins ;-)
Re: Midi out powered ?
I think you simply have configuration issues. Does the led of your WIDI Master flash when you trigger pads?
Re: Midi out powered ?
As I recall, yes, at least at first - I returned all of the WIDI Masters, but will check with the new WIDI Jack when it comes. The reason I do not think it was PEBKAC is because *other* MIDI instruments worked fine before it was attached to the eDrummin4 and then did not work after.
Re: Midi out powered ?
Well, I've got the eDRUMin Control Application running over the WIDI Master now and I'll leave it connected to my ED10, which is always on, and I'll pull out my iPad periodically to test to make sure it's still working.
UPDATE: On macOS I've noticed the bluetooth MIDI service is often dropping the WIDI Master and failing to reconnect. And while macOS fails to connect to the WIDI Master, iOS can connect to it just fine. Perhaps that's the issue you are seeing? I'm having to completely close the macOS Audio MIDI settings app to be able to reconnect. But then again, I'm going eDRUMin -> WIDI Master -> Network MIDI -> iOS Simulator, so it's not surprising that I'm seeing issues. When I run on iOS directly, everything is smooth.
At some point I might try allowing the macOS control application to connect directly via Bluetooth MIDI.

Re: Midi out powered ?
I was using Android. But good point, if there are issues I'll also try macos, windows, and linux.
Re: Midi out powered ?
Can't get it to work on Android. Seems like an issue with that MIDI BLE app.
UPDATE: False alarm. It does seem to work. I'll check on it over the next couple of days.

Re: Midi out powered ?
What version of Android are you using? With the CME WIDI Jack I can get it to work with the ChromeOS version of Android, "Scarlet", but not with my Pixel 4a phone's Android 13. It also works with MacOS 10.15.
By "not work" I mean I can pair with it, but after pairing no data gets received.
BTW with the CME WIDI Jack I am seeing none of the issues that I saw with the hardware of which you are now a proud owner (thanks!), the eDrummin4 has the same problems or non-problems as any other piece of hardware I've attached it to.
This time it is clear it is a CME issue so I've opened a bug with them.
Man, I was hoping this would Just Work :-/
UPDATE: Got it to work. Android is braindead. When the OS prompts you to pair, just cancel out of it. Then it works. More details at https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/android?__gid__=1570768213152974
Does anyone have any of the WIDI hardware working against an Android 13 device?
UPDATE: It works if you always hit "cancel" when the OS prompts you to pair in the pop-up. I don't know what weirdness in code causes this, but it works now. I'm guessing this is Android suckage, not CME. #issuesolved #widijack #bluetoothmidi #wirelessmidi #android
