You can try this:

1. Reset the cymbal
2. Remap the notes if necessary
3. Calibrate - BUT only hit the bow. Get the bow dialed in correctly. The edge and bell should work just fine based on the bow calibration.

There must be a bug there somewhere. Had you used the calibration feature before having the problem?

Doing what I suggested means the bell and edge weren’t calibrated so the Bell and Edge Scalers are probably set to 9. You can dial these back to 1 most likely and everything should still work fine. Of course feel free to adjust them to your playing style.

Just did a quick test...

When calibrating I started with the bow and my gain is hovering right around 12 and the dynamics are really good. Then I hit the edge with similar force as the bow to calibrate the edge and the gain drops to 6 and the edge scaler drops to 1.5.

When calibration is done the gain of 6 just kills the bow. You have to whack it hard to get a 127 velocity. I could be off on this but I feel like if I hit the bow and hit the edge with similar force I should get similar velocities.

I mentioned this calibration effect in another thread discussing calibrating drums. I currently only calibrate the head and then tweak the rim and rim shot after calibration. If I don’t do it this way the gain ends up too low for the head.

Ok now I’m on build 8 and the results were the same. As soon as I hit the edge the gain dropped from 11.7 to 6.
