Customs TAX fees

Post by Rabidreject »

Hello,
This is a pretty specific question to Rob. I tried to go through product support but it kept going round and round in circles where you put your transaction ID in for some reason.
Iv been waiting for my ed10 for a couple weeks now, I checked tracking this morning and it said customs fees owed. Please pay before item is released. So I expected a small customs fee of maybe £10-30. Turns out it’s for £60! What’s that about? Do you send them as a much cheaper item or something so the majority of people don’t have to pay extra unless it gets searched randomly?
I don’t really understand why a company selling legal items in other parts of the world need to fudge the import documentation. I find it a little strange….
Thanks

Fudge the customs documents? I don't think so. You are in the EU? EU customers almost always pay import tax. It is mentioned on the purchase page.

Oh is it? I didn’t see anything like that. Im not having a go or anything, I was just wondering how it all works that’s all. I also wasn’t criticising even if you did report it as something less expensive!
Im just curious how they even work out the import tax? Do you have to put how much the item is worth on the customs form or something and then they take a %? Iv never had to send something abroad where iv had to fill out customs form so I wouldn’t know.
I apologise if I came across in a way that seemed accusitory! It really wasn’t meant to come across like that.
Im sure you know by now how much I love your products, as I won’t stop banging on about it!
To be honest, even with the extra £60 it’s a still a steal for what it is!
Oh and yeh, I’m in the UK - so not Europe but only just! Same sort of thing tho.
Thanks for the quick response Rob.
I look forward to plugging everything in once iv gone and picked it up.

I just wanted to update the thread so everyone knows it was def my fault for not looking up how the customs fees work in my country.
I wouldn’t want anyone to read this and be put off!

When I went to collect it there was a leaflet explaining how customs fees work so…yeah….my bad!
