If you have already got what is pictured working then I don’t see a reason to change. However, if that’s not the case then switching to a fixed set of 8 levels I think would work. For current and new HH level users a video explaining how to use 8 levels for a 4 level module is all that is needed. The different module/vst drum maps would need to be updated.Rob wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 1:52 amI'm implementing the ability to edit drum maps directly in the preset manager so they don't need to be sent to the device to make changes. Do you think I need to include the hihat transition points in the drum map like is shown in the pic? Probably not right. I'm starting to think that I should have made the number of levels fixed at 8. And for applications that use fewer, the note assignment could just be duplicated. That would make the hihat function properly when switching maps without needing to adjust transition points...not really sure what to do here.

My personal story is that I started with CC. I used CC for SSD5, Roland TD-17, and EZD2. Overtime I basically only ended up playing the Gospel EZX kit in EZD2 and I got really tired of the EZD2 minimal level of control. So I switched to HH levels. There was no EZD2 drum map, and EZD2 uses only 7 levels. So it was a minor frustration to get that working. I then saved device snapshots for CC and HH levels so I could still switch from EZD2 to SSD5.5 or TD-16. However, I never really did this. Mostly because I found it difficult to keep up with configuration control when I tweak a trigger setting for a pad in the HH levels device snapshot, and then making sure that same tweak was saved to the CC device snapshot. So I just stopped and exclusively used HH levels and EZD2. Fast forward to Christmas, and I treated myself to a gift of SD3. With the advanced controls in SD3 I switched back to CC4. I likely stay with CC4 for now on.
My latest frustration is how to toontrack does not keep a common drum map between their products. That is super annoying. I now need to invest time in picking the kits I want to play in SD3, and adjusting those maps to my standard eDRUMin midi map. It seems like toontrack could make is easier…. I am a new SD3 so maybe I’m missing a global change option.
