Hey guys,
I got an ED4 pretty recently and have fallen in love for sure. I am not shy in admitting I love everything about it so I am going to buy an ED10 when I get paid tomorrow. I do have a couple of questions for anyone out there who runs both...or two ed10's I suppose aswell.
Firstly, what is the best way to connect? Do I connect both to their own USB port on the PC or USB hub or do I plug the ed10 into the PC and the ed4 into the USB host port is the 10, or is that not what the host port is for at all? I would quite like the program on my computer to know that it has an ed10 and an ed4 connected, obviously, so I can access and change settings. Crosstalk isn't really a huge issue for me as I have two separate side racks I use, most things are pretty separated, however, it would be nice - just not essential.
The second thing I was curious about is that if I have two devices connected to my mac, I would use the foot pedal jack in the ed10 for my hi hat control but then obviously would have a foot pedal port free in the ed4. Could I, if I so wished, plug a certain type of foot controller into it to be able to use as a switch to say...switch between kits just by clicking the foot pedal?
Neither of these things are real a deal breaker, it would just be useful to know...
Thanks guys - happy drumming!
Questions on ED4 + ED10
Re: Questions on ED4 + ED10
Just plug the ED4 into the back of the ED10. They'll both show up in the control application.
You can use the extra pedal ports for whatever you want. The ED10 has two of them, btw.

Oh rah, I didn’t even know the ed10 has two. That’s cool, I can use one for kit up and one kit down then.
Not that I NEED to do it but, hey the functionality is there so why not.

yep.
or, use the 3rd foot switch to cue in a playback track, a light change, a squirt from the smoke machine, or some pyrotechnics! ... the options are endless with a little imagination.

Ha I’ll get some pirotechniks going in my flat. I’m on the top floor so I’ll just cut some holes in the roof and blaze some flames! Lol
Could I use a hi hat pedal to do that or would it need to be a switch like guitar type pedal?
I have spare old seperate hi hat pedals. I have an alesis one and a super old also alesis one thinking about it lol the old one is a Dm5 one. Anyway yeh could I use one of them to do stuff like change kits or tracks or wot ever?

Re: Questions on ED4 + ED10
I just checked. My VH-10 controller setup as a sustain pedal works perfectly fine as a switch.
