Oh dear, time flies!
Half a year later I make it to "convert" my 3 zones Lemon cymbals to a Yamaha style 3 zones cymbal.
At least 2 of them: The 18" ride and one of the 15" ones I am using as a hihat. The four 15" crash cymbals will follow,
no later than during the Xmas holidays.
Ok, see what I have done:

Greetings!
But... I noticed, triggering in the eDrumIn control software is consistent but in SD3 I get some "Xtalk" between
bell and tip trigger. I have to check the midi mapping.

this mod is not for me, but ...mprinz wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 12:49 amOh dear, time flies!

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
Haha, thank you!
Now I have some issues with the 18" ride.
On medium to heavy hits on the bow it closes the edge switch, or I get at least a edge trigger.
The other "modified" cymbals do not show this behaviour.
I thought of a short circuit, or some unisolated wires, I rebuild everything but still that behaviour.

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
Hmmm, when I use the dual zone cymbal input setting, every thing is fine.
Just a thought: Is it possible, that for very high piezo output or unlimited piezos
the module detect some "leakage" through ground?

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
There's probably an optimization I can to fix that for the Yamaha preset. It comes down to poor pad construction, but can be compensated for in my scanning algorithm.
Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
That is what I guess, after finding this:

If it's only the resistors in the piezo circuit that could be my saturday-afternoon-soldering-session. Is it?

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
The problem is that the lemon pads don't have a whole lot of mass, and so vibrate a lot which can stimulate the switch a tiny bit even when hitting the bow.
The same problem occurs with Roland CY-5 cymbals. I've implemented a fix for that for the piezo switch pad type, bit it's not implemented for Yamaha pad types.
We can test a fix when I'm closer to completing the next version.

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
Ah, ok, I got some huge, heavy washers, that I stuck onto to bottom of the 15" Lemon.
I thought that these high velocities originates from other vibrations.
So I will stick a few onto the bottom of the 18" ride, too?!
I will give that a try!
I talked to the guys from Lemon. They say:
"In the modul one can adjust the sensitity."
Err.... it's switch!

That are great news! Thanks a lot!Rob wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 3:13 amThe problem is that the lemon pads don't have a whole lot of mass, and so vibrate a lot which can stimulate the switch a tiny bit even when hitting the bow.

Re: 3 zone Lemon cymbal with only 1 input
Hi Rob!
But: I connected the unused cymbal output with edge_SW straight to the ring to an oscilloscope and left the cable to edrumin10 input plugged in
(piezo, bell, edge+10k). I can see wonderfull signals looking like a discharging capacitor when hitting the edge or choking. But not when striking the bow very hard.
Simultanously, the edrumin control software showed up with an edge trigger when the scope showed the a flatline.
That means, mechanically the switch doesn't close.
