Hi hope this isn't already covered somewhere but I did a search and didn't find it...
I currently am using 2 original single-port Midi Expressions working as volume/expression inputs on a Mac Mini M1.
I'm looking at adding 2 more pedals... I'm considering rather than buy more singles it would be a good idea to bump up to the Expression I/O... What would clinch that decision is if:
1) The control software works fine on the Mac M1 chip. I've had a fair bit of incompatibility issues with the new chip. (However it's still worth it, amazing horsepower and speed for live music performance)
2} I could also use the Midi Expression I/O it as a USB-to-5pin Midi convertor to run my good old Korg TR-Rack from Gig Performer. That would save also buying another USB/5 pin convertor for that task.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Lou
Mac M1 compatibility, USB to midi out question
Re: Mac M1 compatibility, USB to midi out question
While I don't have an M1 Mac, so I can't speak from first hand experience, but I would heard if there was an issue by now. The control application is natively compiled for M1 processors and the device itself is class compliant.
...and yes, the IO can serve nicely as an interface for your Korg.
