eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
Had a 'lock up, no trigger' moment, with 1.6.1 build 10. There was no crash, so I can't submit a report. Basically the triggering from my kit quit, and the eDRUMin app screen was frozen with remnant dots under THRESH, from whatever the most recent activity was. I clicked on SD3 articulations in DP9.51 and there was sound, so I think it was only a MIDI freeze-out from the combo of the eDRUMin's/app. I quit the eDRUMin app, and Digital Performer hosting SD3, re-booted both, but had to power cycle the eDRUMin's to get MIDI happening again. Haven't had a MIDI bail-out like this before and unfortunately don't know how to capture it for an exam. Hopefully just a fluke - as things were sailing along up til that point.
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
I think what probably happened is that the device ends up using too much bandwidth and its USB buffers can't keep up. I'm probably going to have make a version 1.6.2 aimed at reducing the amount of data that needs to be exchanged....no rest.
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
are there known issues with the iOS app and ED10 + ED4? I have both connected to a powered USB hub, which in turn I connect to the ipad via the USB kit. If only one of them is connected, everything is fine, if both are connected the edrumin iOS app crashes immediately (at least it crashes immediately now, when they were factory reset it did connect to both together, but after I calibrated a couple of pads it crashed and it hasn't run anymore since).
Another question, I thought for some reason the iOS app just did not support displaying the blue up/down HH track, as well as the HH pedal number 0/127, however with the ED4 I see them just fine, but with the ED10 I don't (as in, the number on the HH pedal does not change, and there is no blue track when moving the HH pedal).

Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
Thanks, I will investigate when I find time.
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
I just tested with an ED4 connected to the ED10 and there are no crashes. Will test with two devices connected to a hub later.mmarco wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 9:32 pmare there known issues with the iOS app and ED10 + ED4? Not seeing this issue either. Is it possible that you have the wrong firmware installed on your ED10. The hihat is working fine when you use the regular control application?Another question, I thought for some reason the iOS app just did not support displaying the blue up/down HH track, as well as the HH pedal number 0/127, however with the ED4 I see them just fine, but with the ED10 I don't (as in, the number on the HH pedal does not change, and there is no blue track when moving the HH pedal).
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
I am pretty sure that didn't make a difference for me, meaning I vaguely remember having my first crash when the ED4 was connected to the ED10, so I tried moving both to the hub to see if it made a difference. As I was saying it didn't happen at all until I started changing some settings, wish I knew which one caused this. I have the ED4 midi out going in the ED10 midi in, ED10 set to "also send to self" and the ED10 midi out connected to a midi in on my computer, I use the USB connection only for the ipad (my edrums computer is too far from the drums themselves to use the application on it)
that (not seeing the HH numbers change on iOS) has happened since the first time I used my ED10, and has happened on every firmware update I did to it, and has worked on my ED4 always since I got it. Currently both the ED10 and the ED4 are on their latest firmware (the iOS app tells me they are on a later firmware than the app itself, I updated them using the PC app). It's not a big deal as when doing "calibrate" it does show the vertical line going left/right, and anyways since I received my ED4 I moved my HH there and use my ED10 only for drums/cymbals.
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
You definately don't want to have 'send to self' enabled.
Re: eDRUMin 1.6.1 BETA
After three days of testing, I've managed to track this down to a bug in the MIDI library I use. The issue will be fixed in version 1.6.2.jacko wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 1:16 amThis problem appears to be solved in 1.6.1.9 for the closed hi hat notes (though they are all now pretty long notes, but not ridiculously long). But the NoteOff messages for other drums is not always working - I've had it on kick and floor tom and snare on different kits and different libraries (Decades and Roots Sticks) using SD3. I don't recall it happening with other drums previously - only on hi hat close notes.
