eDrumin with 2box module - Hihat splash

Hello,

after having some fun with an eDrumin 10 and SD3, I bought a eDrumin 4 to upgrade my stage kit that uses a 2box Drumit Three as brain.
My goal is to have Snare and Hihat on eDrumin for better configuration possibilities. The Drumit 3 supports MIDI In, but is limited to the number of channels it can trigger itself.

I got everything set up, but encountered a problem with hihat settings: Open/close via CC works as well as different zones, but every pedal sound is a "splash" - I can't trigger a "chick". I'm using a VH10 as Hihat. I tried tinkering with all parameters on the Hihat page, but could not find one that works. If anyone has this succesful set up, it would be nice to share the settings.

However, the 2box manual states that the module creates a NoteOn when pedal is moved down, and NoteOff when it is moved up again. The time between these events decides between splash and chick.
Since I get a splash sound even if I keep the pedal pressed down for several seconds, I would think that the eDrumin sends NoteOn and NoteOff for pedal chick immediately after the pedal is pressed down. It would be nice to delay the NoteOff event, e.g. by setting a treshold for it, until the pedal moves up above a certain level.

I think deciding between chick/splash in the eDrumin will not work, because the Drumit 3 only has one MIDI note for all pedal sound, as far as I know.

If needed, I could do some further investigation on what is really going on MIDI-wise, but I wanted to hear if there is already a solution for this before entering that rabbit hole.

with the new build I get very reliable splash and chick triggering, thank you!

I'm just having a small issue where a open (or perhaps splash) sound is triggered due to very slight foot movement, but I think I can dial this in. Just didn't find the time to fiddle around enough.

With the drone controller I get also open sounds when moving my foot sideways, increasing the closed position in SD3 solved the problem for me
