Please harp. That's how things get fixed. I see this issue now when I select a Yamaha 3 zone pad.Dadwrshpdrum wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 3:04 amFixed! Again not to harp but the 1/2 numbers are still latched for stereo inputs it looks like.
eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
had a go at dialling in positional sensing with my lemon 15" cymbals
using two inputs
1.6.0.4 (did download and install 1.6.0.5 but the software didn't 'see' it)
used the lemon 18" preset and the 'other' position on the cymbal sensing - using CC and not 'note'
could get it working on 2 out of the three, which suggests it's probably a QC issue on the third cymbal. switched that cymbal over to the hi-hat but it turns out that one's got better bell sensitivity than the one i switched to the ride position, so I can either have a reliable bell or positional sensing on the ride and that's a no brainer for me
i've been trying bow 1 near the edge, bow 2 near the 'middle' and bow shank nearest the bell
the positional sensing is not (yet?) completely reliable with these cymbals - you kind of have to work around where the piezo is and it's mostly good but there is enough triggering of unwanted bow shanks to put me off. i might keep just the bow 1 and bow 2 but probably won't bother with it since it's not a feature i'm all that concerned about
posting here because 1.6 is still in beta and this might be useful info

Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
further to my previous post on lemon 15" cymbals:
1. bell sensitivity
the issue with bell sensitivity is actually with the presets
if i use the lemon 18" preset, the bells only register extremely low velocity hits
if i use the roland cy15r present, the bells trigger fine
i didn't realise this because i was swapping cymbals and presets (poor process my end)
2. positional sensing
when using the roland cy15r present with positional sensing on the 'other' setting, it still works, but doesn't seem to be quite as accurate and it runs backwards (hits towards the bell show up on the right of the position indicator) - you can just swap this in SD3 so can easily workaround
when using the roland cy15r present with positional sensing on the 'roland' setting, it doesn't work

Hi Jacko,
Thanks for taking the time to test. I rally apreciate it. Comments in-line...

I just checked on my Mac MINI and it sees build 5 just fine. Perhaps you are confused because build 5 still uses firmware build 4.
I'm a little confused and I think it's because we're not clear on the difference between a 'pad type' and a 'preset'. I just tested with the Lemon 18" preset, and bell sensitivity was spot on. The only CY-15 preset, is not for 2 inputs. Instead it uses Bell Sense. The Lemon 18" ride preset uses the Roland 3-Zone Cymbal 'Pad Type', so I'm think that perhaps you're confusing 'presets' and 'pad types' ? Nonetheless, Lemon Ride cymbals should definitely use the Roland 3-Zone pad type. I know there was some talk that they should be using the Metal 3-Zone pad type, but that is absolutely not correct.
That's too bad. It's probably something I could iron out if I had more of their cymbals to test with. Can you post a pic of the positional sensing settings you used for the Lemon?jacko wrote: ↑Tue Aug 10, 2021 6:00 amcould get it working on 2 out of the three, which suggests it's probably a QC issue on the third cymbal

Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
latest beta here, PS on my CY-15 ride works geat, bank changes are buggy though, changing bank notes from SD3 in Bank to SSD5 in bank 2 the notes won't stick so I have to remap everything again when I change banks, also the ride edge note in SSD5 is always E2 but this is assigned to the hihat splash note
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
I'm unable to reproduce this issue when changing the bank using the Control Application or when changing a bank using a sustain pedal to change the bank of the selected pad. How are you changing banks?
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
Just by mouse clicks, I tried BFD3 in bank 3, same, when going bank to SD3 on bank 1 the pads stayed mapped as BFD3 even if I select the SD3 preset, both 1 and 3 buttons remain lit
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
Or maybe is not clear to me what's the correct order to change banks, hit the pad first, select bank number and lastly select the mapping above? or?
Re: eDRUMin 1.6 BETA
Oh I see. No bug, just procedure. I kind of wish it worked that way, but it doesn't. You have to select the mapping, and then click on a pad image to load those particular notes.

Yes the positional sensing is working really well. It tracks even better than my UFO drums snare. I've checked the Superior Drummer midi view and see the incoming CC valuesRob wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 1:49 amDoes the positional sensing on the eDRUMin side seem to track the position?dsteinschneider wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 6:52 pmI turned on positional sensing for them but haven't spent time configuring that on the Superior Drummer side
