eDRUMin version 1.6 BETA is now available for testing.

New Features
  • External MIDI devices can now have their crosstalk processed MIDI sent back to them (support for Roland modules with local control off)
Thanks so much for including this! I’ll take a look later this week.

Amazing progress Rob.

In the 1.6 beta can I make a feature request please for an option for eDRUMin to send a MIDI control command when a bank change occurs?

I'm wanting to mute the snare bleed on SD3 when I change bank to a 'wireless' snare.

Thanks!

The PS is still a little bit erratic with my Lemon 18" but the fact that it's working at all is pretty fantastic.
I only have the Core Library so I've been using it to switch between Bow Tip and Bow Shank. Fiddled a bit with the SD3 internal curves to match the volumes, and it's already a better effect than using the old Velocity Gate.

I'm not entirely sure how the meter correlates to what CC values are being sent. Can that be elaborated upon?

I've added that new page and there's lots of room on it yet. In the future I could probably break out controls for MIDI Transformer that's already built into the firmware (curtesy of MIDI Expression), but I'm in no rush to do so.

I've had to create two different positional sensing for cymbals algorithms to properly support Roland and Yamaha / Lemon. I'll try to post another update tomorrow.

I just noticed after the upgrade to 1.6 some of my settings were off. Namely the scan time was increased and the hold was decreased (sometimes drastically). I have my holds around 10.7 but on my bass drum (input 2) the hold was decreased to 1.8. The changes were very random and it only happened on a couple of inputs. It didn’t matter if the device was hosted or not.

And now I’m noticing that my hold setting won’t stick. On input 2 the hold says 9.7. I change it to 10.7, let it auto update, move to another pad and then come back to input 2 and the hold is back to 9.7. I tried a manual save as well and still it did not save. I also rebooted the devices and still no joy.

I tried to reset input 2 using my saved preset from V1.5 and the settings didn’t change at all. Like it completely ignored my preset upload.

I have two ED10R1.

Very strange. I'll see if I can reproduce the issue.

I had time tonight after all to check this out. Works great! The TD-17 works really well, and the eDRUMin does an excellent job cancelling out the xtalk and passing the MIDI back to the TD-17. For others edification. Background: I have a TD-17 module that is a slave to an ED10 via USB MIDI. Most of my pads are connected to eDRUMin, but I still use Crash2 and Aux ports on TD-17 for a crash and splash. The TD-17 does not xtalk cancel on incoming MIDI. So I had to raise the threshold of the cymbals to cancel out the xtalk from all the pads not connected to the TD-17. Therefore I lost some dynamics. Now with “self” and TD-17 local control set to off the TD-17 will register the xtalk on the cymbals but play no sounds due to local control off. The eDRUMin sees the MIDI notes, applies xtalk cancel and sends back the correct MIDI notes to TD-17 so it plays the correct notes. Wonderful.

A possible bug:

Set up: ED4, TD-17 and Alesis Strike Multipad connected to a powered hub connected to ED10 USB host port. Local control off on TD-17 and Multipad.

When I select “self” and there are no more devices connected in the list then “self” is selected for all of the empty slots. Very minor display bug.

More detail. With the TD-17 and ED4 on hub then when I select self on TD-17 three “self” buttons showed selected and ED4 grayed out. With TD-17, ED4 and multipad on the hub then when I select the first self option (eg multipad) that is selected and only that. When I select TD-17 then the final empty slot shows selected as well.

Is it possible that this is just a display issue? When testing on macOS, I noticed that the scan settings occasionally didn't update properly when switching between inputs with the mouse.
