The manual is pretty clear on this topic:

"MIDI generated by each device is forwarded to all the other connected devices."

This means that your SDMP1 will work as a MIDI device and it'll be combined with MIDI from the ED10 and any other connected devices and sent to your computer.

And if the SDMP1 lets you trigger sounds via it's USB MIDI or MIDI Dins In, then you'll be able to use the ED10 and any connected devices to trigger sounds on the ED10.

I totally misunderstood when I first read it I thought the manual was referring to triggering the sounds from the Yamaha .. as my Simmons is basically a Dummy pad with no sounds .. that's great news I can still use it then. I apologize sometimes more technical manuals stuff goes over my head I'm more of a hands-on type of guy. . Sincerely Rob I really do appreciate you taking the time to help me.. that was the biggest deciding factor to me buying the ED10 modules.

That's is the thing that makes the difference between you and Megadrum. you take the time.. that and you offer a totally Kickass product :D

Just a thought thinking outside the box here but being that the ED10 can pass through midi notes and use its software to trigger them .. what do you think would happen if I connected the MD to the ED10 .. that is basically a passive interface that just inputs midi as well. has anyone ever tried this? Do you think there would be a conflict with both trying to take the power of the pad signal?

You can of course connect any USB MIDI device to the USB host port, but the eDRUMin is not going to modify the MIDI in any way except to filter out notes that are deemed to be the result of crosstalk.

Having been a MD user myself, trust me when I say, once you use the eDRUMin you won’t want to touch the MD ever again. :D
