Button switch not recognised pedal input 2

I want to add a button switch to the pedal 2 input as a snare throw-off, the idea being it will toggle a snares on/off instrument in SD3.

I have a button switch that terminates to a 3.5mm jack, so I used a stereo ‘small to big’ converter to get it into eDRUMin. I presumed the use of a stereo jack makes no difference here.

eDRUMin doesn't recognise this button being pressed; what can I do to make this work, please?

Wiring diagrams are included in the manual, if that helps. If you can include a screenshot of the pedal settings, that might also help.
