Greetings!
First of all, my apologies if this topic has already been posted before. I scoured through all but can't seem to see what I have in mind.
I am currently using a Pearl Mimic Pro and wanted to have the PS (positional sensing) and 3-zone cymbal (most importantly the bell) on the crash cymbals reason I am about to have eDRUMin 10. I play at our local church wherein a lot of cymbal articulations are required.
Now, for my question in general, do I need a laptop to set-up the Mimic Pro module + eDRUMin 10 initially or I can hook up the latter without the need of it (laptop)? Second, I have listed already the Mimic MIDI notes to pair with the eDRUMin, anything else I need to make the PS and crash bell activation work on these set-up?
Thanking you all in advance!
Blessings!
JC
EDRUMin 10 + Pearl Mimic Pro Set-up
Re: EDRUMin 10 + Pearl Mimic Pro Set-up
I don't think the mimic crashes have the bell sampled, so there's the first problem.... secondly, the mimic won't support CC 16 messages sent from the edrumin for Positional sensing, but it can send a midi EDGE note which you can assign to the Edge articulation in the mimic. Remember each articulation has its own MIDI note and each MIDI note will trigger whatever you assign it to in the mimic, it won't add new sounds, you can only trigger the sounds already on the mimic. So if you have a dual trigger snare you can trigger the center, edge, rimshot and side stick articulations each with its own MIDI note. You can then add a roland BT-1 to trigger sidesticks independently on an aux input and use the rim articulation for rim clicks only.
You configure the edrumin first with a computer, once configured you can use a 9V power adapter in standalone mode without the need of a computer.
Can you list the Mimic MIDI notes for the Snare and Cymbals?

Hi sir. Thank you for the prompt response regarding my queries.
Finally, shed some light on what to expect for this set-up. Too bad PS isn't supported for the Mimic.
Regarding bell, I can probably pick some bells off the ride selection and assign using 'aux', thought not sure this is workable.
Sure, herewith are the MIDI notes, sir.

Snare Center D1---38
Rim C#1---37
Rim Shot E1---40

I will post it here once I got the info. Asked it over the 'other' forum.

Do you have already a mimic or are you planning to get one?josecarlo1129 wrote:I will post it here once I got the info. Asked it over the 'other' forum.

I do have it and LOOOOVE it! Honestly I can achieve low velocity hits (buzz rolls) but wanting to make it better by using eDRUMin'S PS feature.
I am using PMP module with ATV cymbals that brings fantastic, natural feel. Again, love to have the bell's activated on my crashes for our worship songs.

Oh, so you can’t see the articulations for the snare? Unless I’m mistaken and completely wrong there should be visible in the midi settings

I will look at it. To be honest, I am learning about MIDI just now as my interest in eDRUMin progresses.

Hello sir.
Just checked the device. That's all in there, the one I posted initially. No midi notes for the side, rim click and sideshot
