Now I cut really cut it.
And I think it's better. But not as good as I was thinking it will be.
What would you do next.
See the transient, that is not ok...
Or is that a normal one during hot spotting?
Anyway, here in Germany it's midnight and I will have another beer and go to bed.
Jobeky snare too hot / positional sensing
Re: Jobeky snare positional sensing
I tired to order one of the toms, but they don't ship to Taiwan, unfortunately. In that screenshot, there's no more clipping, but if you are using a 47K it's not going to work properly. 30K is already pushing the limits.
Re: Jobeky snare positional sensing
Hi Rob!
No? But the gap between 0.8 and 1.2 ms appears when hitting the center.
What does clipping look like?
Anyway, now I get less of these gaps but when they appear I have 127 velocity.
And yap, beyond 30k nearly all features were gone ... and head/rim ratio was somehow messed up and, and ...
not nice.
I'm sure the root of all evil are the stiff rods.

Re: Jobeky snare positional sensing
I doubt it would be the rods. Or the decoupled. Have you tried a softer material for the foam tower or try a cone instead?mprinz wrote:Hi Rob!

Re: Jobeky snare positional sensing
Hi!
That's what I mean... changing the trigger rod to a soft cone.
I ask a german company Drum-Doktor which of their cones is the softes and then
I will give that another try.

Re: Jobeky snare positional sensing
Haha. I see. I thought you were talking about the bars. Yes definitely change out there cone. I hear r drums work pretty well and that’s in Germany I believe.mprinz wrote:Hi!

Re: Jobeky snare too hot / positional sensing
Now I have organized a softer foam cube for decoupling.
My to do list is as follows:
My to do list is as follows:
- stick rim piezo right below the head piezo, without sticky foam pad, just double sides tape. check all polarities?
yesterday I recognized that the "+" of the head piezo needs to go to the tip, but the "+" of the rim piezo not to ring but to the sleeve?
Ok? - testing, good? -- yes -> done
- not good -> changing the installation to the lower lug screws to have more space for higher, softer decoupler
- testing, good? -- yes -> done
- otherwise ...
Re: Jobeky snare too hot / positional sensing
I quitted...
I bought another snare with drum-tec trigger like system, that will arrive tomorrow.
The rim trigger replacement was a good thing, now I got a quite good response around the rim.
I essence I just decoupled the trigger table and tested several trigger cones.
It was really quite obvious: larger areas contacting the meash head lead to hot signals. I ordered ddt-drum trigger cone.
And then I will sell this snare again... anyway.
I measured the piezo signal with the oscilloscope and I got a very loooooong ringing piezo ... somehow those metal bars are ringing and
mess up the signal so the edrumin cant get the pos. sense dialed in, I guess.
And now start annother thread with regard to piezo polarity , that costs me 1 extra day.

Re: Jobeky snare too hot / positional sensing
I'll buy that Jobeky snare from you.
