Hmm... I think so, the rim piezo is 35mm already.

Hi Rob,
now I tried 30k ohms and still got this strange transient, which - I guess - means it's still clipping.
I also have to push the green bar of the pos setting to the right. The marker stays quite long at the right when going from
the center to the edge... but I think that's ok.
I get this transient when hitting near to the center trigger.
What would you say... will the hot spot supression work?
I think, i will take more ohms I wont get a off center trigger any more...

Somehow. I find it a bit strong compared to the Alesis rods.
I guess that's my main problem.

now I tried 30k ohms and still got this strange transient, which - I guess - means it's still clipping.

There is also no decoupler below the center piezo...just a sticky pad - I don't know, if a decoupler would also solve that problem.

I got the same result with my Jobeky trigger bar and now it sitting in it's box. Some others seem to have it working so I don't know if there's combination with the snare and the head.mprinz wrote:Naaaah, no way.

I got another trigger that I managed to get something (was doing the same thing) but not perfect by tightening the head really hard but I still sometime get spike. Maybe it could help.
I wish the gain could go to -10 on edrumin but I think it's not possible hehe.

No, after one year of diving into that edrum topic, a will rip that thing off and try another cushion and piezo.
To be honest, I think the edge of the shell is not really perfect.
Not at one height. Might not be relevant for my problem or when using for edrums. But I recognized it.
May I flip the trigger...
If the reso side is better. ... No, that won't give other trigger result.
It the monster piezo...
I have here some really cheap ones... should I grab one of these? Or may I order some "good" ones...

You've reminded me, the Jobeky trigger bar on my kick was all sorts of odd. I swapped out the piezo and also placed a bit of foam underneath it (rather than sat directly on the metal plate) which sorted it out.mprinz wrote:Awww... damn...

So, what's next... I am thinking am cutting the larger rod in a half and put one half below

The decoupler is there so that the piezo nearest to the hit catch the most of the vibration. It isolates the 2 piezo so one buzz more than the other so the module can make a difference on what was hit between head and rim. But it's not necessary with all modules and with edrumin I don't think it's needed. Some module use the crosstalk between the 2 in their algorithm.mprinz wrote:Hi MWJT42,

Your piezo will still receive the same amount of hit so it will still be too hot.
Did you tried different head tension and placing the cone at different distances from the head?
