Auto Fade in / out option

Post by cjadams »

Not sure if THIS is possible.

IS there a way to use an expression pedal setting to trigger an on/off switch.. ie expression pedal off = 0 expression pedal on = 127... but have it send a fade on/off sliding up and down the 0-128 range? i want always a smooth "settable" time to go from 0-127 Would be great to just slam the pedal on.. and have midi expression app send that range to create a custom timed fade on / off
Right now i have to use a Max4live device for this..see attached photo i would need the expression pedal to just send the trigger and have it increment and decrement its values till it got to 0 or 127. NOTE the main reason to use expression rather than say just a momentary pedal. is for visual conformation! you can easily see which pedals are on or off.

This volume automation would be awesome for fading stuff in and out as you play..

Have you looked at the RATE control. it's pretty much exactly what you need.

Yup.. that did what it was supposed to do! Question.. I don't see a way to do an ease in / ease out on the spline ramp? is there a way to do that?

You're looking for some kinda of acceleration parameter, but there isn't one. You can play around with the SMOOTH control, but it's not quite the same.

ahh ok... i was thinking too bad the rate option doesn't have an s-curve option. rather than being just linear.
