I started to write my response when I saw mylo's. It was almost exactly what I was going to write so +1. The no hi-hat controller cc thing has been happening to me during the latter half of the 1.4 betas but otherwise everything is great. No crashes of the control app, the no cc issue has usually been solved by turning sense on and off.

And thanks for teaching me the work around. I’d still be scratching my head wondering why the hell it didn’t work.

I would really like to fix this issue, but I need information from you two. I assume you have the issue every time you power cycle the device. Can you please do the following steps.

1. Power Cycle the unit.
2. Open the control application.
3. Select the unit that is having the issue (assuming you are using more than one unit)
4. Holding down ALT and SHIFT, click on the pedal editor icon (image of the pedal editor icon is below)

Now the tooltip for the pedal icon will show 2 number. Please tell me the numbers.

5. Turn 'sense' on and then off.

Check the tooltip of the pedal editor and tell me what the two numbers are (they should be almost the same as before).

After step 1 I confirmed that CC messages weren’t being sent.

I then completed the rest of the steps:

For controller input 1:
Step 4: 571 and 1019
Step 5: 571 and 1019

For controller input 2:
Step 4: 581 and 1020
Step 5: 581 and 1020

And after step 5 CC are being sent again.

Great. I'll fix it in the next build. If you have the time, it would be great if you could do the same procedure with an ED4, but the numbers should be similar.

I have a couple of ED4s here I’m not using. It will take me a minute to get one setup.

ED4:

Step 4: 684 1018
Step 5: 684 1018

In testing the ED4 I discovered too that just unplugging the controller and plugging it back triggers the issue as well. When I plugged my controller back into my ED10 the CC was gone. Had to cycle the Sense button again.

Thanks for those numbers. That is all I need to fix the issue.

Thanks mylo for providing the diagnostics. I just upgraded to 1.4.0.19 and for the first time since the early 1.4's the pedal was sensed correctly and worked right off with no extra steps. I thought it was too early for Rob's fix but thought I should report that in .19 I had no pedal issue after the upgrade.

Mylo,

As a workaround for now until build 20 is ready, if you change your polarity setting from 'auto' to 'Roland', your VH-11 should work properly with build 19.
