I bought it in early Dec, and shipped on 14 Dec.

I see the issue. It's being detected as a line6 pedal. Fixed for build 10.

Found another bug. HIhat CC data is not being forwarded to devices connected to the host port.

Changes in build 10
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent some hall sensors from being powered.
  • Host port can now handle class compliant MIDI devices with descriptors as large as 1K (iConnectivity devices).
  • MIDI data from pedals is now forwarded to MIDI devices connected to the host port.
  • MIDI data from pedals is now filtered during calibration.
  • If not using 'sense', FSR based hihat pedal can now be connected using a TS (mono) cable.
Please note that if you are using a Hall Effect sensor (which requires power), the pedal type must be set to an expression type pedal.

Hi, I loaded this update today. I had noticed up to this point I could not trigger on the slave TD-17 (connected via USB HOST port) the HH chic and/or splash. Today with the latest update and the laptop connected/app running I heard the chic and splash (using note bank 2-4, see below for more info).

When I disconnected the laptop (with the app running) the issue I had observed before still happens. (Aside i think I may have noticed the hits, if not completely missed, were a lower velocity, or at least to my untrained ear that’s what it sounded like, so maybe it’s not missed midi notes but constant loud velocity hits are transmitted as low velocity midi notes that I can’t hear). After a power cycle the issue is gone. However, new observation, with the laptop/app disconnected there is no longer a chic or splash on the TD-17, even after a power cycle. I think this may because the note bank switches back to bank 1 after a power cycle. I have more information below, but I can’t get bank 1 to work properly on the TD-17. Note if I left eDRUMin HH pedal in Bank 2-4 (not 1) when I disconnected the laptop/app the HH pedal worked just fine until the power cycle.

Taking a step back in time to earlier this week. Ever since the firmware update to fix the USB HOST port and TD-17 I noticed with bank 1 (I had set to EZDRUMMER2 when I first got the eDRUMin earlier this month) I could only trigger a closed HH sound on the TD-17. So I then configured bank 2, was a brand new eDRUMin and had never configured bank 2 before, and loaded notes from the Roland drum map. Bank 2 started to trigger open and close sound (no chic or splash, as I stated before this is now fixed with latest update). I did uncheck “CC only when hit”, when configuring bank 2. I thought that was the reason bank 2 started to work on TD-17. But then I noticed those check marks are not tied to a bank, but a global change because when I went back to bank 1 it was unchecked. So checked it again, and left it.

Today after the latest fix I decided to work on this again. I noticed bank 2 - 4 all worked on TD-17. (Bank 3 and 4 I had never touched before today). I then went to bank 1 and made bank 1 match the other three banks. I loaded from the Roland map on bank 1. Still bank 1 would not control the TD-17 HH position correctly, closed only. Worked fine on EZDRUMMER2, so no regression. I tried the check mark thing again and nothing. No effect. I attached a pic of my bank 1 settings. Bank 2-4 are identical, they work on TD-17 but Bank 1 does not.

Edit: not sure if it matters but I have only used calibrate with bank 1 while monitoring ezdrummer2. So bank 2-4 I’ve only ever changed notes, and a couple times the check mark, and nothing more.

Update: I took the time to use a FS-6 I have to set up bank 1 (EZDRUMMER2) and bank 2 (TD-17). During this process I found out I had the wrong midi notes mapped to the HH cymbal bow and edge for the TD-17. That is now understood and was a user error. I also confirmed with the laptop disconnected I can switch between bank 1 and bank 2 to make the TD-17 HH work. So that again is no issue. That was user error.

It looks like when loading Roland HH notes from the drum map on the HH cymbal pad editor the Linked HH pedal notes change, however when loading HH pedal notes from the drum map does not change the linked HH cymbal pad notes. That actually helped me figure out my user errors, but I thought it was worth sharing. Also I think loading notes from drum map on the HH cymbal pad on the pad editor (not pedal editor) may have generated the issue I write about below....maybe.

I did found a couple times when switching banks using the footswitch the HH pedal would reset back to Channel 1, CC 0, pedal midi note 1 and slash midi note 1 (I think that is C-2???). That was for all banks. Not sure what I did to generate that issue other than use footswitch, and maybe the drum map thing I mentioned above. Happened at least twice.

Edit: happened two more times. Once with the laptop connected and app open, and the last time with the laptop disconnected. I did discover, after this, that I did not fully snap the TRS cable from the FS-6 into the eDRUMin. It was about halfway in there. So when I pressed the A pedal both pedals showed depressed on the eDRUMin app, same thing if I pressed the B pedal. Both A and B pedal was set to perform the same action, Inc/Dec All inputs banks. Min 1 and Max 2.

Power to Hall effect sensor is back on in 1.4.10.

Here is a bug to report.

Pedal sense was on
Hi-hat stand with Hall effect sensor (powered by E10 plugged into powered hub)
Expression pedal correctly detected but defaulted to "Impact" for Hall effect sensor - I changed it to "Pedal"
Pedal was moving hi-hat from open to closed but the graphics weren't showing the movement.
Tried Calibrate but still no graphic change to represent the pedal movement and therefore also no change in the greenbar.
Clicked to a different type of pedal for that input
Clicked back to expression pedal and graphics then worked and could see what I was doing in Calibrate

Random crash in Build 9. I was merely practicing some fills, not interacting with the Control App in any way.

Edit: just saw that Build 10 is now available, so Crash Report may be irrelevant.
