he he.....
How's it going with Mixbus?
Did you upgrade to the 32C? I am still on original version.
I had to wrap my head around the I/O page, but once I got it, it was sweet.
I love it still... but it is proving to be difficult with my Presonus audio interface.
On another computer and interface (Mac and Art), it was working nicely, but on a Win 8.1 with that dumb Presonus interface, it is giving me all sorts of pops and screeching noise. I have to up the latency to something unusable to make it sound ok.
Presonus came out with, at the time, something interesting... but they never could get it right. Instead of eating it and moving on, they passed the buck to users.... I was one of the unlucky few who bought it. Drank the Koolaid, even got involved, waited for the fix ... that never came. Then, we got dropped like an old pair of shoes. For that, they will forever lose my business.
Who is using Modo Drum?
Re: Who is using Modo Drum?
So yeah, I'm giving up on this. Just because you can play this live, doesn't mean you should.
Again, I'm probably biased because I'm comparing this to Superior Drummer 3, but this thing is way clunky. Dynamics are severely lacking, articulations are minimal, and again, bottom line, it just doesn't sound very good.
If anyone is considering purchasing this: don't. Even if you're a producer, EZDrummer costs about the same and gives you much more control, plus it sounds way better.
A shout-out to eDRUMin, though. It was very easy to set up with a dedicated MIDI bank.

Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.
Re: Who is using Modo Drum?
thanks for trying and the heads up.
Yep, going with a company dedicated to drums only seems like the smart move, when it comes to triggering drum sounds.
Cheers!

Re: Who is using Modo Drum?
I did upgrade for $80, I probably should have just hung with the original version but I decided if I was going to put time into learning it I may as well get the full version which is pretty inexpensive considering. I haven't spent any money on DAW software and I've been looking for one that is most like a real console - I think Mixbus is it. I wanted something that has less fiddly workflow than Reaper. So many things in Reaper need SWS to be workable.perceval wrote: How's it going with Mixbus?

I went on a hunch that this software will work better for the kind of recording/mixing I usually do.
It's behaving itself on my laptop and desktop so far. People complain it can be unstable. I've tweaked these two machines for audio (power management off, bloatware removed, Process Lasso installed etc).
