Does eDRUMin work the Trapkat?

Post by hionhifi »

Hello All,
Does anyone know if the eDRUMin 10 works with the Alternate Mode Trapkat electronic drum surface?

It uses FSR triggers.

I don't know what you expect from eDRUMin 10 for your trapkat, but I think you'll get nothing more than what the trapkat itself can offer as it is already a midi interface. What you need for a trapkat is a sound source, which can be either a sound module or a VST.

Some of the alternate mode products are indeed only the FSR triggers which need to be plug into a special trigger to midi interface to output some midi. They only works with the alternate mode DITI or the alternate mode FTB. EDRUMin is not designed to be use with FSR, Rob should confirm but in its current form, it can't handle a FSR trigger.

Thanks for the reply Sly. I forgot the Trapkat already has a MIDI interface built in. That answers my question, thanks.

This is the first time I've even heard of FSR triggers, but I can confidently say that they will not be supported by eDRUMin trigger inputs. Might sort of work plugged in a pedal input though.

Rob,

Kat products use FSR triggers, as well as the triggers onHEAD and inHEAD.
The last two need a unit that will recognize the FSR signal like the DITI, which never took off.
