I was never satisfied with the result I had with my DIY.
So I decided to buy a trigger bar from jobeky with a 27mm trigger to have better results : https://jobekydrums.co.uk/product/jobek ... r-trigger/
I installed it yesterday but it's even worse than my DIY.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the trigger seems way too sensitive in the middle. Everyone seems to find it easy to adjust but it's been hours and hours for me and no good results.
Rob, I've seen in other threads that VU meter should not clip when set to 1. Is it where we see the velocity dots? Because it seems to go way beyond that when hitting on the middle?
I tested if there's not a short in the connectors between tip ring sleeve when connected to the trigger or edrumin and it doesn't.
I've adjusted the trigger height at 2mm like recommended with a head tension low and increasing it a little bit while recalibrating every time. After that I changed the position of the trigger a lot of time to try to be closer of further from the head but still the same.
Also I've seen the video of lalo who's using the same head has me so I assume they are ok.
Any suggestions. I'm kind of lost.

Re: Hotspot not detected
Mesh head ? I would say to tighten it hard and see what happen. Real feel drumtec heads have its third layer very loosy if the head is not tighten hard, maybe it's the same on those sparedrum 3-ply and it may cause your problem...
And maybe start by reinstalling the quartz cone, I would feel more confident with it than with this Jobeky trigger...

Re: Hotspot not detected
A loosy head will ever have way more hotspot than a hard tighten head.

Yeah I started loose and tightened more and more. I don't know when to stop, I'm afraid to tear it.Sly wrote:Mesh head ? I would say to tighten it hard and see what happen. I didn't notice the loosy on the 3 ply, but I think I read some have.
So you think my DIY crossbar with quartz is better than the jobeky trigger? I read 1 or 2 people here have jobeky trigger.

Post some pics and we'll help you get this resolved.
For reference, I have a AI trigger bar on a 14x5 snare, with a DrumTec Real Feel head and couldn't be happier with it.
Hot spot is non-existent and the positional sensing, rimshot and side stick triggers flawlessly. Only issue I had was the screws coming loose holding the bar, which I resolved with some Locktite

hard tension can be applied, it's very tighten when it feels hard under the stick.I'm afraid to tear it.
That's what you said.So you think my DIY crossbar with quartz is better than the jobeky trigger? I read 1 or 2 people here have jobeky trigger.
That's maybe not a good advice, but that'what I would do If it was better before. A foam cone seems better to me than this jobeky foam tower. But I've never test it... Just assumption
Re: Hotspot not detected
So if you both have the same trigger, quite the same head, the same module, what is different ?MWJT42 wrote:Post some pics and we'll help you get this resolved.

Drum size are the Same ? both 14' ?
I can't imagine the drum shell to have such a influence...
You should export your setting to give it to thenewdrummer...

So the keys are supposed to be difficult to turn?Sly wrote:hard tension can be applied, it's very tighten when it feels hard under the stick.I'm afraid to tear it.

Also it's like no amount of suppression is enough to go below 127
