Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible to use the hihat pedal input as a normal pad input?
I want to use 5 pads and no hihat pedal. I'm playing electronic with Zildjians GEN16 AE, so I don't need a hihat and cymbal inputs.
It would be great to have the snare, 3 Toms and the kick on 1 edrumin device. Is this possible?

The manual says no, you can’t and shouldn’t even try.

Pedal Input
The controller input on the back of the eDRUMin does not support drum pads. The Jack uses DC current which can damage the drum pads. Look on the next page for more information about the type of pedals you can connect.

If you don’t care about rim shots on your toms you can split tom1 and tom2 on one input and then split tom3 and the bass on another input. Then on your toms turn on edge sense to see if you can get back rim clicks. This configuration will use only three inputs.
Another option is to just split one of the toms with the bass. This would leave two toms with full capabilities of center, rim and rim shot. The tom split with the bass can use edge sense to get the rim click back.
You didn’t mention which pads you are using so the above suggestions are assuming you have compatible, dual zone pads.

Thanks, I forgot the inputs are stereo. I don't play rimshots on my toms, so that's an easy solution!
Didn't buy a unit yet, I wanted to make sure I would have at least 5 inputs.

Don’t also forget, each mono input can also have ‘edge sense’, so the E4 can potentially have 16 inputs! (8 pads + 8 rims).tomvangaever wrote:Thanks, I forgot the inputs are stereo. I don't play rimshots on my toms, so that's an easy solution!

Magic.
