Having trouble setting up ATV cymbals.

Post by Turpsee »

Currently only getting bow triggers using Dual Zone Cymbal as my input.
Having the same issue with the ATV 12" hat, 12" crash and 14" Ride.
I have had more success switching over to mono input and using edge sense, but still registering occasional bow hits that are way over the other side of the scale. I hope that makes sense.
I feel like I am missing something.
The cables are TRS, they are fine. The inputs seem good, I have tested them with drum pads.
I watched setup videos and trawled the forums here, nothing seems to work.
Any ideas?

No ideas. What version are you using?

1.3.0 build 28.
I have it semi workable in mono with edge sense. The bow hits seem to fall in the same range consistently but the edge hits are all over the place.

Should be working fine with the dual zone cymbal preset.

Very well. I will continue to mess around with it. Thanks for replying so quickly.

Can you attach a screenshot of your settings?

Are your inputs set to stereo? Maybe you accidentally changed it to mono or dual mono.

I have ATV aDrums Artist cymbals and I get all three zones using one TRS cable. I have them set to Dual Zone Cymbal with Bell Sense turned on set to CY-8.

When using one cable, on the cymbal the cable MUST be plugged into Edge input.

I did some messing around and I have the hi hat triggering the edge, but can only get the bow in specific spots if I really belt it.
The ride and crash I have both edge and bow triggering now but it's still quite inconsistent. The bow triggers consistently, but the edge jumps around the meter.
I just tried bell sense, seems to trigger fine when I hit the bell directly, but the edge is triggering all 3 zones seemingly at random.
I feel like I'm doing something wrong, I got the drums and hi hat pedal set up without issue.
