With metal cymbals mounted with a slight tilt toward the drummer and with the piezo box and cable on the front as defined by the picture, gravity does a pretty good job of keeping the “front” toward the player. Complete 360 spinning isn’t really a problem, at least for me.

Essentially they are saying, move the piezo where it is least likely to be hit directly. (Which is what it really means when people say a side mounted trigger eliminates a hot spot. No... the hot spot over the sensor is still there but mounted in a spot where it won’t be hit.)

Build 2 doesn't seem to take. I tried updating 3 times, it looks like it's going through but afterwards it still says I'm on build 1.3.1.1.
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.

Same here, it seems it updated successfully but it still shows as 1.3.1 with the firmware update exclamation mark. Somehow it « half » updated because the low velocity hits trigger off center issue is fixed but hotspot suppression is still a bit wonky.

I went from 1.3.0.28 straight to 1.3.1.2. It now tells me I’m on 1.3.1.1 with an update available to 1.3.1.2.

The hihat controller seems to be better now, which is a much needed relief.

However an old foe has paid a visit to me again, which is pedal movement cancelling out cymbal hits despite the link being enabled. Note the lack of white dots when the pedal is moving, crosstalk is set to zero

EDIT: OK so if anyone else is having this while Rob is away, my workaround is literally just:
1. recalibrate pedal
2. cycle through polarity settings until you go back to your original setting
3. cycle impact/pedal in the same way
4. play hihat for a bit

I tried to reproduce this issue, bit couldn't. I'll try some more in a few days.

Yes, the build is showing as 1.3.1.1, but it is infact 1.3.1.2

What do you mean wonky? Is it mistriggering suppression?

Just a tiny quick fix.

Changes in build 3
  • Fix cymbal choking not working on ED4 in version 1.3.1
