Your piezo has fallen off the rim or there is a wiring issues. No bug.

By chance I changed it to Yamaha wiring and it's working...

Then whilst testing, without changing settings, it stopped.

Okay, unplugging the jack from the drum side seems to have done the trick.

It's probably a bad cable or loose connection in the jack.

I have a lot of cables and the problems I have experienced haven't cared about which cable is used.

To me it looked like unplugging and replugging reset it.

Knowing Dave the connections will be indestructible.
