Using Midi expression

I just saw this little device and thought it might be a solution. I am using Hauptwerk Virtual Pipe Organ. I need an expression pedal the is USB or midi to the software to recognize it. I also see I can use a TSR to convert a volume pedal to an expression pedal. After doing this, if I use this 'adapter' will it convert the 'expression' pedal to midi data on a CC channel?
Is the device configurable if I need to change what the Virtual Software sees in case there is a multiple assignment? Really hoping this will be the solution.

The answers are yes and yes. While I've never tested MIDI Expression using an analog volume pedal, some posts online about using a volume pedal as an expression pedal using a special TRS-> DUAL TS cable seem to indicate it will work. I'll try to get my hands on one and test it for myself.
