I'm not having much joy with these Goedrum triggers. The screw thread is way too short for a wooden shell.

Any ideas?

Let them inside and don't install the bottom head?

I had to replace the lug screws with longer ones from the hardware store when I installed my UFO Drums eBridges.

If you're in the US find an ACE hardware store - they usually have an aisle with little pull out drawers with metric and us bolts and screws in every length and width with different threads (fine to coarse). Bring the screws with you - you can find a nut that fits them to identify the thread and width. Sometimes there's a plate on the wall with all the different threads tapped in so you can use that to identify what you need.

That stinks. Welcome to the world of Diy though. As soon as you think you’ve got something that works you find a new problem. I use long shaft neutrik jacks for my shells. I’ve also used a soldering iron to burn a hole in the bottom head and mounted the jack to the head.

That stinks. Welcome to the world of Diy though. As soon as you think you’ve got something that works you find a new problem. I use long shaft neutrik jacks for my shells. I’ve also used a soldering iron to burn a hole in the bottom head and mounted the jack to the head.

Yeah I wasn't too impressed. The cables were too short for my floor tom vent too, no way would they reach a bottom skin!


I ended up getting some long screw thread jack sockets, some heat shrink and soldered some better ones! Had to solder inside the drum though, as I could pass it through the vent. I now realise why Jobeky terminate to a 3.5mm jack!

I understand the reason, and I did it before as well.
But, 3.5mm jacks fray very easily. They are so fragile. So many cables I had to cut the jack out, and redo the soldering myself with another jack... but, those wires and tabs in 3.5mm are so tiny!
