That's what the 'fast stepping fix' does.

Well, that's just not how things are done. You first send the sound of the cymbals coming together (chck sound), and then if the cymbals open up again quickly enough, you send the splash. But you are definitely starting to see why it's important to send out the splash as quickly as possible, and that's what I'm trying to do with the last few builds.

Looking forward to hearing some feedback on build 18.
I get that. But SD3 has an actual articulation called Open Pedal. When I play it from SD3 it clearly has the foot chick already in it. But I get you are trying to build something for everyone, not just us SD3 users. I think the “fast as possible” is working though. The “note on” messages for closed pedal and open pedal are right next to each other, then a bunch of CC messages, then the note off messages for open pedal and closed pedal.

I remember dmitri having the same issue with the MegaDrum. How do you determine when the drummer wants the splash and not just a chick.

This is working. The closed pedal gets overwritten by the open pedal sound so fast you don’t perceive two chicks. So all is good from what I can tell. It’s pretty amazing now that I have it working and can hear it all together. Pretty slick that after I do a splash I can slowly close the pedal and hear all the closing articulations going off.

I checked out your video. Thanks for those. They were helpful to me. While I heard the splash sounds you only show the hi hat. I wanted to see the actual eDRUMin control software lighting up the splash note.

The Scaler numbers have gone rogue in the v18.

I can get onboard with some label changes too. I have VH-11 sitting on a real hi-hat stand too. I use “Pedal” because it works best for me and I’m not using a bottom hi-hat cymbal.

I know the how these are defined because I read the docs and followed along with the development. But if I was a newbie I would assume Pedal is a pedal only with no stand like an Alesis Nitro Kit. Where Stand is an actual hi-hat stand whether you have a bottom cymbal or not.

A VH-11 on a stand with a single cymbal screams at me to pick Stand even though Pedal is the preferred choice.

Unfortunately I can’t offer any better solution at the moment. I’m thinking hard on it though.

Edit:
Maybe Pedal / Cymbals. After reading the docs the hi hat type is defining what triggers the articulations. It’s either the pedal or the cymbals.

Definitely better. Maybe these buttons need a label. I know you mentioned a UI fix up that is coming but for now...

Trig Method
Pedal / Impact

People might start what wondering... impact of what?

Does anyone use / want the 'always send on closed' feature? If I got rid of that, I could declutter things a lot.
