Interesting, I never actually see the B-1 in the MIDI monitor. I do see a G#-2 (HH edge trigger, CC4-controlled) even though my sticks are nowhere near the cymbal. I suspect it's playing an open edge articulation? Those sound close to a splash.

This is with Splash Sensitivity at 20. When I bump it up to 40, the light does go on and the B-1 shows up in the monitor, but at that setting I also get back into double triggering territory.
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.

Alleluia!!! I turned up the splash sensitivity to 55 and low and behold... splash notes. So I’m with you. High Splash Sensitivity settings get the splash to show up. Now when I do a splash I see a pedal (8 for me) and a splash note in SD3. That feels half way right but I’d rather just see the splash note and let SD3 do its thing.

I can’t get a splash to trigger no matter what I try.

Before I send one (mine definitely does), I use the Goedrum GHC (similar to VH11) controller (which eDRUMin currently classes as a 'pedal'). Does that count?

Rob, any further thoughts on renaming 'pedal' / 'stand' - as my GHC (and the VH11) is definitely on the stand!

Edit: just seen this:

Are you using SD3? That also has its own 'make a splash sound based on CC events' (rather than MIDI note) built in.

However, it's crap (overly sensitive during fast HH foot taps) hence all the work Rob's put into 1.3.

Well, that's just not how things are done. You first send the sound of the cymbals coming together (chck sound), and then if the cymbals open up again quickly enough, you send the splash. But you are definitely starting to see why it's important to send out the splash as quickly as possible, and that's what I'm trying to do with the last few builds.

Looking forward to hearing some feedback on build 18.

I actually had reproduced and fixed that issue. I would love to see your update log. If you get a chance, could you email it to me?

The file is in the a hidden subfolder folder caled .Audiofront in your home folder. On my system it's:

Code: Select all

Users/robert/.Audiofront/MEC_log.txt
If you could email that to support at audiofront dot net, it would be much appreciated.

Didn't know that. Do you know if that can be disabled, and how, so I can compare side by side?

Feels like a solid build to me. Hihat is working beautifully again, footswitches are working great. Haven't experienced that random MIDI shutdown, or whatever it was, in a while. I even managed to dial in rims & clicks on the toms properly.
