I thought there was a hi-hat issue but I reset everything related to my hi-hats and change some things in SD3 and I have it all working again.

However... one thing I’ve always meant to ask... I have never got the Splash to register. When I’m on the pedal editor no matter what I try I can’t and have never been able to get the Splash note to register. I seem to get a splash but the note never flashes in the controller.

I’m in desperate need of a hi-hat how-to video. Complete with various VST setup.

Like with SD3, I’m really not sure I have it setup right. I thought I did but after today I’m not sure. SD3 has so many articulations I’m not sure which ones eDRUMin needs turned on. Currently I have Edge, Bow, and Bell trigger turned on and mapped to the cymbal. That part I get. I have all the Close, Tight, Open 1, Open 2, etc turned on for Edge, Bow and Bell but not mapped. These are evidently used in conjunction with the CC because I see them triggering. But I’m not sure what I should set the Pedal and Splash notes to. SD3 has Closed Pedal and Open Pedal articulations. I thought maybe those because that’s what seems to work but splash is very weak and I can’t get it to work very well. Same with the foot chick. Very weak signal.

The pedal controller has become very complex in my opinion. Can’t wait for a video.

On my eDrumIn hihat pedal setup screen, I have MIDI note A-1 as the Pedal (chick) note, and B-1 as the Splash note. Control Change is the default #4. The linked hihat cymbal has G#-2 for the Bow and G-2 for the Edge. I don't use the Bell.

In SD3, on the MIDI in/Edrums settings screen, I selected the hihat articulation on CC4, and selected the "Close More" preset. I then changed the Velocity Map for notes A-1 and B-1 so they're slightly louder (made the curve steeper by dragging the right edge of the box inwards), and that was it.

Never assigned any individual hihat open/close articulations and the hihat performs near flawlessly.
Miscellaneous Roland triggers. ED-10 + ED-4. MacBook Pro (2015), 16G RAM, Big Sur. Superior Drummer 3. Logic Pro.

So A-1 and B-1 are the Open Pedal and Closed Pedal articulations in SD3 for your hi-hat correct?

The other way around: A-1 is chick, and B-1 is splash, but you can verify that on the MIDI In/Edrum settings in SD3.

Confirmed... all is reset and set like you have suggested. Everything still looks ok but I’m still not getting a splash at all.

And... the ED10 my hi-hats are connected to is hosted by another ED10. Even though the pedals are linked to an input the icon keeps switching back to a cymbal from a hi-hat.

I link the cymbals and get the hi-hat icon (black ED10)

Come back to the black ED10 and hi-hat icons are gone.

That has high bug potential. I'll try to reproduce it.

Can you also send me a screen shot of the settings for your hihat pedal?

The icon switching is only a problem when hosted. Not getting a splash seems to be a problem for me no matter what.
