Jobeky 20” Ride (Roland) Zone Separation
Jobeky 20” Ride (Roland) Zone Separation
Is there a way to tweak out more zone separation between the bell and bow? This ride is set up as a Roland 3-zone. Playing the bow is ok but when I move up to the bell I occasionally get bow notes. And by “occasionally” I mean every third or fourth hit on the bell plays a bow.

Probably not. I don't think this is an eDRUNin issue, but rather just the design of the cymbal. Have you used that cymbal with a Roland module?

No. Never owned a Roland module. I figured it was cymbal design but was hoping.Rob wrote:Probably not. I don't think this is an eDRUNin issue, but rather just the design of the cymbal. Have you used that cymbal with a Roland module?

Is it a bell switch or piezo. If it’s a piezo put the bell on a different input and use crosstalk settings to isolate the bell and bow from one another. That’s what I’ve done with my a to e cymbals in a td12. It works really well.

I would try that... but I just sold that cymbal.AKA Wayne wrote:Is it a bell switch or piezo. If it’s a piezo put the bell on a different input and use crosstalk settings to isolate the bell and bow from one another. That’s what I’ve done with my a to e cymbals in a td12. It works really well.

What did you get to replace your 20" Jobeky ride? I've been looking a the Jobeky triggered cymbals since they look nice and are cheaper than the Roland stuff. Did you not like them overall?
Thanks
Re: Jobeky 20” Ride (Roland) Zone Separation
I bought some used Field cymbals and the Field Ride won out over the Jobeky Ride. But that was then... I just ordered a new Jobeky Ride to replace my Field Ride and regret selling the other Jobeky ride I had. Ride cymbals seem to be the bane of my existence. I have a lot of trouble with them. The Field is now reporting connection issues when I plug it in to the eDRUMin. I get it worked out but if I unplug it for any reason it goes back to throwing errors and I have to fiddle with it to get it working. But I’m tired of its finicky nature so I’m going back to Jobeky. Hopefully I can get the Jobeky worked out this time.OftheSeven wrote:Hi Mylo,Mylo wrote: I would try that... but I just sold that cymbal.

As for Jobeky cymbals, I’m a big fan. I currently have a hi-hat and two crashes. I have a second hi-hat coming to replace my Field hi-hat, another crash and a ride ordered. Between Field and Jobeky give me Jobeky all day. I will keep the Field China I have because I prefer the look over the LV look. I will keep the Field splash because it is 2 zone. But all others will be Jobeky.

I started seeing this issue yesterday. I think I have it solved in build 1.1.0.5. I'll post it in the BETA thread in about 20 mins.

I've updated the links. Could you check if 1.1.0.5 fixes your connection issues?

I’ve had this issue for a while. I mentioned in this post: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=567#p2485Rob wrote:I've updated the links. Could you check if 1.1.0.5 fixes your connection issues?

But I’ll try the new version tomorrow.
It works fine when I just have the bow/edge plugged in. I then plug in the bell and the bell input gives the incompatible error. I then unhook it all and do it in reverse. I setup the bell and all is fine. Then I plug in the bow/edge and it gives me incompatible error. But I keep playing around and eventually it just starts working. Then I don’t touch it.
I did a continuity test on the cable and it is fine. I suspect the cymbal may be faulty because the edge hits are not consistent. Hence the ordering of a new Jobeky cymbal. And I’ve had it plugged into each of my eDRUMins and they all act the same. Logic suggests it is the cymbal. I’ll either scrap the Field or just move it over and try to use it has a 2 zone crash.
