eDRUMin 1.1 BETA

Post by Rob »

I'm putting the first BETA version of eDRUMin 1.1 here for anyone who would like to check it out. I will keep these links updated to the latest build.

Current BETA version 1.1.0.31

Windows
http://www.audiofront.net/eDRUMin_Contr ... 1.0.31.zip

MacOS
http://www.audiofront.net/eDRUMin_Contr ... 1.0.31.zip

You can downgrade from the 1.1 BETA to the previous version, but your device will be factory reset.

Please keep all discussion about the BETA, including bugs, and general suggestions on this thread. Any other threads related to this beta will removed from the forum. You can find a list of changes between builds at the end of this first post.

New Features
  • Note Banks
  • Expression Curve support for hihat CC
  • Pedal input functionality greatly augmented
  • Bell Sense for Roland CY-8
Improvements
  • Improved precision for Scaler controls
  • Bell Sense improvements
  • Updated Manual
  • General Bug fixes
Note Banks
The big feature with this update are the Note Banks. Each input has 4 banks of assignments. The banks can be changed from the UI, with program change messages, or with an attached sustain pedal / footswitch. Check the Manual for details.

Expression Curve for Hihat Controllers
Like the velocity curve for the trigger inputs, hihat controls now have an Expression Curve to adjust the responsiveness of CC messages. Also, using the MIN control of the Expression curve lets you simulate adjusting the hihat clutch. Check the Manual for details.

Improved Pedal Functionality
Many more features that are available with MIDI Expression devices are now also available for the pedal input on eDRUMin allowing more creative uses for the hihat input when it's not being used to control a hihat.

Thanks for making the beta's available.
Just installed this on my three units and had it up and running within 5 minutes. Couple of thing I noted.

The pedal page has some glitching in the graphics. Moving the pedal glitches on the screen periodically. Windows 10 Pro.

The 4 preset banks are awesome. Such a useful feature that I've wanted for ages. One question though. Is there anyway the selection arrow can be operated by midi? I have a surface controller and the ability to swap between presets for certain drums would be mind-blowing. Just a thought.

Love the split tabs for the dual mono drums really handy.

The curves for the hihat pedal are fantastic. It's this missing link in dialling in the response.

I'm sure people will post up anything they find but for now a massive thanks!!!!!!!

Yes, you can send Program Change messages to the eDRUMin. You'll probably need to route them through a DAW or something. Look in the manual for details.

Wow.... I was so proud I thought I'd figured it all out without reading the manual. Lol

Bell Sense for Roland CY-8
Which Bell? Does that mean it would have 2 zones with a Mono Input?

I will try out V1.1 tonight. Currently in the process of ditching my TD17 and replacing it with 2 edrumins, the right time to try something new.

There's not much of a bell on it, but it's there. I'm not sure if the UI will let you do Bell Sense on a mono pad... Should be possible if it's not already implemented.

Ok so from what I read the banks can be changed by a switch plugged into the foot switch jack. But what about sending an external cc message via USB midi?

CCs are not supported, but the device will recognize MIDI Program Change messages.

There's a whole page in the manual about it, closer to the end.

I saw that page but I still wasn't clear on it. All good I'll do more tinkering.
