Version 1.0.2.23 - no edge response on cymbal
Version 1.0.2.23 - no edge response on cymbal
Something happened between version .22 and .23 that affected the edge response on my Field ride cymbal. The edge response was very good on .22, even a moderate hit triggered the edge. I updated to .23 last night and the edge was gone. I could get it to work on some hits but it was very intermittent. Today I downgraded to .22 and the edge is working again.

Hi Mylo,
This might be a bit of a stupid question but how do you downgrade the firmware version?

Pim

Every time I upgrade I keep the older version around. Just reinstall the software using the older version and run it normally. Click on the firmware button and the software will recognize that the device has a newer version then what the software says and instead of an upgrade button you get a downgrade button.Pim wrote:Hi Mylo,

Thank you, that makes sense in case something happens like with your cymbal. I guess I also should download all versions of the software from now on.

Pim

I haven’t seen one on the web site. As mentioned, I’ve been keeping my own archive. But I’ve only been keeping two versions myself, the current and previous.Pim wrote:Or is there an archive?

I just realized a newer version was released 2 days ago. Isn't that the second upgrade? Meaning the 3rd version?Mylo wrote:I haven’t seen one on the web site. I will keep downloads from now on, too...just in case. I do like the option to downgrade, that's a nice feature. Having an online archive on the website would be also great.

What I have observed with the version number is that Rob in incrementing the last number for these little tweaks he is doing for us. My first version of the control software was something like 1.0.2.16. So there have been 8 updates since I started using the product around December 24, 2019. It is getting updated often. I’m not sure what constitutes going to 1.0.3.0 or even 1.1.0.0.Pim wrote:I just realized a newer version was released 2 days ago. Isn't that the second upgrade? I've put build 22 back on the website and I'll investigate.

Are there any plans to keep an archive of older versions available on the website to download?
