I've got a new MIDI Expression IO. I want to use it to trigger notes (sound effects). I'm using it connected directly to my Roland RD-300NX with a MIDI cable.
I currently have two sustain pedals, each configured to send "Note On/Off" for a note to a channel (2,3), corresponding to the upper2/lower layers on the keyboard.
If I use the pedals independently, it's fine. However, if while holding down pedal 1, I play pedal 2, the note on pedal 1 gets stuck -- it seems never to get a note off. Hitting the pedal again doesn't help.
Stuck note with two pedals.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
Thanks. I'll investigate.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
It probably won't make a difference, but could you also tell me what notes you are sending?
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
Currently A2 and B2 -- but I don't think it makes any difference.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
Confirmed bug. I'll keep you posted.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
I found the issue. I'll post a fix in a couple of days.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
Awesome. The update doesn’t seem to have hit the App Store yet but I’ll let you know how I go when it does.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
It won't. You have to update the firmware using the PC or Mac OS version of the Control Application.
Re: Stuck note with two pedals.
It's fixed now. Thanks
Which brings me to another question/feature request: are there plans to allow more than one function for a pedal? For example, before the Note On I might like to send the messages for Bank Select + Program Change to specify what sound I want. Or I might like to send a Note On to more than one channel.
If there was support for functionality similar to this: https://github.com/gbevin/SendMIDI that would allow virtually anything.
