Help with setting up snare
Re: Help with setting up snare
How's the tensioning on your drum head? Also is the main Threshold control reasonably low? Perhaps it's best to contact me via the support form and I can give you a tool to better see what's going on with your pad.

Re: Help with setting up snare
I tightened the heck out of my ludwig 14" snare with UFO 3 ply mesh head and that greatly improved PS and overall sensitivity. The weird thing is that it didn't really feel much different from when I had "tuned" it like a normal snare.
Re: Help with setting up snare
That's great to hear. I'm also getting ready to push an update that will improve positional sensing when using very low scan times. The update should be available in a day or two.

I'm really interested in your results, lalo. I have a 14" drum-tec snare with the RealFeel head and I would like to read some more impressions regarding the positional sensing and hotspot suppression on big shells with similar 3-play heads.
Re: Help with setting up snare
I have a converted 14in snare with quartz trigger harness and real feel head. I’ve got my edrumin ordered but I’d like to hear any experiences with this set up. I’m hoping to improve ps over my td12 which has never been great. I was able to improve it a bit with dialing it in through SD3 but it’s still unpredictable. By the way I use Roland wiring. So do I select Roland mesh pad as pad type?Exci wrote:I'm really interested in your results, lalo. According to the manual, there is no pad type saying "Roland mesh pad". You can pick either
Mesh Center Piezo
Mesh Side Piezo
Rubber Pad
Yamaha 3-Zone-Pad
Acoustic Trigger
(the other 3 options are for e-cymbals)
So you just need to know if you snare has a center- or side-mounted piezo, afaik.
Best regards,
Pim
Re: Help with setting up snare
Thanks pim. So I guess the whole reverse polarity thing with Ps doesn’t matter?
Re: Help with setting up snare
You should be using the Mesh Center Piezo type, and you definitely should be using Roland style wiring. If you do that, your positional sensing will be fine.
