Post by beelzebozo »

Hi, is this compatible with the Roland RT-30 single and dual drum triggers?

Yes, it is. I have an RT-30HR for testing purposes.

I’m very interested in your product, but I have a number of questions. How would I be able to expand the inputs on a Roland TD25? Would I be able to get three sounds from a Jobeky snare? Would I be able to trigger an ATV ride cymbal? Since the TD25 is somewhat limited in terms of sound sources, would I be able to get a single voice hi hat sound through the auxiliary input? Thanks in advance for your response, and for providing creative resources for electronic drummers like myself!

Unfortunately Roland didn't include MIDI In on the TD-25, so there's no way to directly extend your module. Your only option would be to have the eDRUMin trigger sounds in a virtual drum sampler on a computer or iOS device.

Yes, you would.

Yes, you would, but you would need to use both cables, ATM. If I can get any of their cymbals in my studio, I could probably extend the Bell Sense feature to work with them as well.

I'm not sure about this one, as I don't have a TD25 to test with.

I am using the Roland RT-30 single and dual drum triggers on an acoustic kit with mesh heads. The Acoustic Trigger selection won't trigger MIDI in Superior Drummer 3 but it will trigger if I select Mesh Center Piezo or Mesh Side Piezo. If I cycle through the HIT selections manually by clicking, it will trigger various notes in SP3 but hitting the drum head won't. Not sure why that is.

The description under Acoustic Trigger states 'Trigger attached to a real drum'. Does that mean with a latex drum head?

I'm running SP3 in macOS Catalina 10.15.2.

Probably a bug. I'll look into it.

I tested MIDI in MIDI Studio and the Acoustic Trigger setting and it did trigger MIDI.

Thanks, I'm also on latest eDRUMin software and firmware.

I can vouch for this feature. I use a Jobeky AI trigger center mounted in my snare. Center, rim and rim shot are working. Positional sensing is also supported and is working well for me.

Looks like I was a little careless on the last update. Confirmed bug. Just use one of the other pad types until it's fixed in the next update. There's no real processing difference between those pad types. It just affects what controls are visible in the UI.

Thanks for looking into it so quickly.
