Roland TD-17 to ED 8 no processing?

Brand new to eDRUMin and to the forum.

I have my TD-17 USB out to ED 8 host. The only pad (for now) going to the ED 8 is the snare which processes as I'd expect. While the rest of the kit gets through to EZD3 (and all other VSTs), there is no processing capability through the ED app. Barely shows any input and only in the THRESH column. If I turn the GAIN up to 20.0, I can see some processing in the SCAN, HOLD and DECAY columns but very little

It was my understanding that modules connected to the ED 8 USB Host Port would be processed through the ED software app.

Did I misunderstand the thru processing or am I not setting things up correctly (see below)?

So firstly, those 'self'' buttons should probably be off unless you have 'local control' disabled on your Roland module. If you do not have local control disabled, turning on the self button will create a MIDI feedback loop and neither the Roland or eDRUMin will function properly.

Secondly, the eDRUMin can't configure the pads connected to your TD-17. The eDRUMin can only intelligently merge the MIDI data from your TD-17 and the eDRUMin.

Have turned "Self" off for all and, since I'm using VSTs only, turned local control off on the TD-17.

A little off topic...
I've watched literally every video on your products but have not seen anything on the center piezo Lemon 13" snare.
I'm hoping I can add positional sensing once I have that added to my kit (through the eDRUMin 8 of course)?
My goto VSTs are EZDrummer3 and BFD3, both of which have pad "edge" articulations.
