On my Mac I can configure it but on both of my iPads (IOS 18.2 and the other 17.7) it is not shown. I tried it over a USB-Hub and over a USB C to USB A Adapter. No chance…

Indeed there is a tiny firmware issue which I've already fixed. I'll post an until in the BETA thread in an hour or so.
