Piano Sustain Pedal As Bassdrum

Hey Everyone!

So I just moved and all my gear is packed up and I was asked to record drums for something.

I have easy access to a Kat Multi Pad I picked up a few months ago and thought I could use the midi out from the pad to lay down a simple part in SD3.

With that in mind, I don't have access to my Bassdrum and wondered if a sustain pedal could be used as a kick with the edrumin module somehow?

It's a very basic song so I don't need dynamic control or velocity. Just a kick hitting something.

Any help would be great!
