Help with hi-hat closure
Re: Help with hi-hat closure
Rob forgot to ask, what size magnets are best to detect sensor inside the cover?
Re: Help with hi-hat closure
I would have paid even more than $30, knowing how well this thing works.
Re: Help with hi-hat closure
I honestly would buy another Hall effect sensor. I plan to build out a 2nd ED10 kit soon. Just looking for the right shells at the moment. My first kit is using a Hawk converted shell pack from edrumcenter, and they are awesome. Will likely go with them again. $129 per converted drum for their talon 3 triggers. Paid $1500 for these shells shipped, including the detached rack tom sitting on the floor.

Hi looks great!!scoTTTimo wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 11:28 pmHere’s some pics. The calibration line bounces around even when the hardware is sitting completely still, so maybe you’re right about it not getting enough power? I have the eDRUMin 10 connected to a MacBook Pro M2. How can I test that possibility? I did try the other pedal jack with no difference. It also doesn’t seems to matter how close the magnet gets. If loosen the hihat clutch and push the pedal all the way down, it behaves the same. I checked your solders inside the sensor unit as well, and they look good to me.Rob wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2024 10:27 amWell the sensor has to be well secured. If it can move around or even vibrate, that's going to be a problem. You might want to open the sensor up and have a look to make sure I soldered it well. I suspect it's fine, but you never know. Maybe your sensor isn't getting enough power? I did put a 0.1 uF on the circuit board, but i probably should have also put a larger bulk capacitor on there as well.
What magnet are you using?
Re: Help with hi-hat closure
I ended up going back to the lemon HHC12 controller. The Hall effect sensor isn’t quite as smooth. It doesn’t seem to hit the entire range of motion, and the calibration line still bounces around a little.
For anyone interested.

Hey Rob, do you still have any of your hall effect sensor packages left for sale?
