I have a couple of these MPX2010 pressure sensors from a failed Breath Controller project.
I'd like to be able to use them with the MIDI Expression i/o.
1. Would this work?
2. How would I solder this to a TRS plug? Are any additional components (resistors, capacitors, etc.) needed?
Pressure Sensor with MIDI Expression I/O
Re: Pressure Sensor with MIDI Expression I/O
That part is not a good match for MIDI EXPRESSION as it requires 10V. Sensors are cheap. Look for one that uses.a.3.3v supply. The MIDI EXPRESSION manual has wiring diagrams in the back. A pressure sensor would likely have the same connections as a Hall sensor.
Re: Pressure Sensor with MIDI Expression I/O
I'm afraid I'm a little out of my depth here. Would anyone be willing to recommend a good breath pressure sensor (one with a good sensitivity range for breath control), that uses a 3.3V supply?
I'm not familiar with the pressure specs, range, units, values, etc.
Am I correct in assuming that because MIDI Expression is taking care of some of the range & slope calibration, that other components like resistors or pots aren't needed?

Re: Pressure Sensor with MIDI Expression I/O
I can't recommend a sensor, but I can confirm that you indeed wouldn't need any resistors or pots.

Thanks, Rob.
I'll report back when I get around to selection and testing.
