Is the roland snare PD-140DS is supported by the edrumin?

Being USB MIDI class-compliant devices, the eDRUMin and PD-140DS will function together using the MIDI signals that the DS will output. However, beware that the DS does not, itself, generate positional sensing MIDI data. When the DS is used in conjunction with a Roland TD-50 or T-27, those modules generate those particular PS data, not the DS. So, you get most of the DS's potential functionality via MIDI when used with the eDRUMin, but not all.

Effectively, they will function together, but there's no real benefit to using the DS as opposed to an analog device.

there's an advantage if you want to play cross sticks without crosstalk from a bt-1 on an analogue pad (which I could never get rid of), with the digital snare putting your hand on the head and playing the cross stick it will ALWAYS trigger it no matter what, no head sounds, no rimshot sounds.

Great point. I wasn't thinking about cross stick. I have the BT-1, and that works well for me, but I'd do think I'd prefer a touch-sensitive function a la the Roland 140DS or the DW pressure-sensitive FSR approach, so I wouldn't need to change my playing technique to produce the cross stick sound. Having said that, watching the DWe FSR approach in videos, and hearing feedback from users, it's not 100% fool-proof in that, of course, threshold pressure needs to be consistently applied for the sound to be achieved. It appears the Roland DS approach may have reliability issues. All said, the BT-1 is as reliable as it gets.
