You need to select the hihat controller input, not the hihat cymbal input.

Rob, I saw your picture from the first post, looked like the cymbal is selected.
Hihat controller == pedal? Still cannot find, feel like an idiot...
I use hallotron hihat.

PS. the Steady control set to 100 seems not enough, that's why I hope the Stand setting will help.

You still can't find it because you are not using version 2.3.1. You are still on version 2.3.0.

Just downloaded the new beta and I’m liking the improved hihat response. But I’m noticing a Pedal / “chick” sound every time I press the pedal all the way down, no matter how softly. Has that always been there? Can I turn that off?

I’m using a DRONE optical sensor if it matters.

Ya, that's how it's currently implemented. And ideally, that's how I think it should be--the hihat cymbals are coming together after all. What more precisely is the problem--the fact that a pedal note is triggered, or that the note that is trigger doesn't sound appropriate for such a low velocity event?

Taking a look at your settings, have you adjusted your travel control? Make sure it is sitting at or just above where your hats come together (if using a single hat, the location where the hats are very lightly closed).

Also, your curve might have been appropriate for the 'pedal' method, but with the 'stand' method, it should be mostly linear (due to more accurate physics base molding). The way you have it now, the low velocity pedal notes are likely going to be too loud.

I’ll tweak my settings some more as per your recommendations, but I disagree that the chick should be there at such low volumes. On an acoustic kit, I can close the hihats slowly without an audible sound. That’s especially useful on quieter passages. Maybe a minimum velocity threshold could be added?
